Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter was born September 4, 1981, and rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of Destiny's Child, one of the best-selling girl groups in history. Her 2003 solo debut Dangerously in Love became one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century, followed by the funk-imbued B'Day (2006) and a turn in Dreamgirls the same year. Her marriage to Jay-Z and the double album I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008) produced five US number-one singles, including "Crazy in Love" and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)".
