Biography

About

Mustafa was born in 1601 or 1602, son of Sultan Mehmed III and Halime Sultan. He became sultan of the Ottoman Empire on 22 November 1617, but the reign lasted only three months — he was deposed on 26 February 1618. Four years later, on 20 May 1622, he was restored to the throne, only to be removed again on 10 September 1623. He lived another sixteen years after his second fall, dying on 20 January 1639.
