Mr Eazi coined "Banku music" - his term for the sweet spot where Ghanaian highlife meets Nigerian chord patterns - and rode it from college party promoter to the man behind "Skin Tight", the track that carried his sound past the Lagos-Accra corridor and into global earbuds.

About this person

Born Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade on 19 July 1991, he moved to Kumasi in 2008 to study at KNUST and started booking acts for campus parties. A guest verse on "My Life" circulated locally and pulled him toward the mic. He dropped his first mixtape, About to Blow, in 2013, then broke wider with "Skin Tight" featuring Efya - the single that introduced his fusion to listeners beyond West Africa. In 2017 he released Life Is Eazi, Vol. 1 - Accra to Lagos, mapping the two-city axis that shaped his sound.
