About this person

David Adedeji Adeleke was born in Atlanta on November 21, 1992, raised in Lagos, and started in the group KB International before leaving business school at Oakwood University to make beats. He released a run of singles through 2015, signed with Sony in January 2016, then founded Davido Music Worldwide and dropped the Son of Mercy EP that October. A year later he renegotiated for creative control and released "If" and "Fall" - the latter becoming the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history. A Good Time followed in November 2019, A Better Time in November 2020, Timeless in March 2023, and 5ive two years after that. New African named him one of the 100 most-influential Africans in 2019, and Time put him on the Next 100 list in 2021.
