About this person
Born in Johannesburg on 20 February 1984, Noah started doing comedy in South Africa in 2008, picking up hosting gigs with SABC and landing runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing that same year. From 2010 to 2011 he created and hosted Tonight with Trevor Noah on M-Net. He joined The Daily Show as Senior International Correspondent in 2014, then took the desk when Stewart left in 2015. His 2016 book Born a Crime turned his illegal-under-apartheid birth into bestselling memoir. He hosted until 2022, won two Primetime Emmys, and has emceed the Grammys every year since 2021. Time put him on its 100 most influential list in 2018, the same year The Hollywood Reporter called him one of New York media's most powerful twice running.
