Alessandro Lindblad was born in Sweden on 7 July 1991 and adopted the stage name Alesso as he moved into electronic production. In 2012, MTV flagged him as one of their "EDM Rookies to Watch," the same year Madonna tapped him to open select dates on her MDNA Tour after hearing his work. The co-sign accelerated his rise: he began stacking collaborations with artists from OneRepublic and Calvin Harris to Katy Perry, Usher, and Stray Kids, and claimed regular slots at Coachella, Tomorrowland, Ultra, and Electric Daisy Carnival. DJ Magazine ranked him 13th in 2015 and 20th in 2016 on their annual Top 100 list. His debut album Forever arrived in 2015 via Def Jam, formalizing a run that had already made him a fixture in the festival-circuit tier of dance music.
