About this person
Born December 11, 1996, Steinfeld broke through at fourteen in the Coen Brothers' True Grit (2010), earning Academy Award and BAFTA nominations for playing Mattie Ross opposite Jeff Bridges. She moved into teen territory with Ender's Game and Begin Again (both 2013), then found a franchise home in the Pitch Perfect sequels (2015-2017), which earned her a Golden Globe nod for The Edge of Seventeen the same year. Her "Flashlight" performance in Pitch Perfect 2 launched a parallel music career: she signed with Republic Records, released the single "Love Myself" and the EP Haiz in 2015, then landed hits with "Starving", "Most Girls", and "Let Me Go". She voiced Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and its 2023 sequel, led Apple TV+'s Dickinson (2019-2021) as Emily Dickinson, joined the MCU as Kate Bishop, and voiced Vi across both seasons of Arcane (2021-2024). She returned to live action with Bumblebee (2018) and Sinners (2025), and has Hexed coming in 2026.
