Meryl Streep is read about 12,367 times a day, in 114 languages.
A typical day, 30 days to 15 October 2026
The middle day of the days counted, so one week of news cannot move it. The line under it is the last 390 days, one point a day.
Something wrong? She holds more Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations than any performer in history - 21 and 34 respectively - not through luck or longevity alone, but through a technical precision and dialect command that made her the measuring stick for serious film acting.

Streep came out of Yale Drama in 1975, earned a Tony nomination within a year, and landed her first Oscar nomination for The Deer Hunter in 1978. She won her first Academy Award for Kramer vs. Kramer after rewriting her courtroom testimony to center the character's autonomy rather than function as a narrative foil. The 1980s anchored her as a leading actress: The French Lieutenant's Woman, Sophie's Choice, Out of Africa, and a Best Actress win at Cannes for A Cry in the Dark. After a genre-sprawling '90s, she reached a new commercial altitude in the 2000s with The Devil Wears Prada and Mamma Mia!, while her dramatic work in The Iron Lady brought a third Oscar. She has now appeared in over 64 films, 18 television projects, recorded more than 20 albums and 30 audiobooks, and in 2014 received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
