Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was born in Cape Town in 1988 and grew up in Johannesburg. He broke through in 2011 with "Victory Lap" and his debut album Altar Ego, then cemented his place with Levels in 2014. Over the next decade he released a collaborative project with Anatii, Touch My Blood in 2018, and his final record Mass Country in 2023. On 10 February 2023, he was shot dead outside a restaurant in Durban.
