John Joseph Nicholson was born April 22, 1937, and made his debut in Roger Corman's The Cry Baby Killer in 1958. He spent the sixties writing (including The Monkees' Head) and appearing in cult films like The Little Shop of Horrors before Easy Rider in 1969 brought his first Oscar nomination.
