Hugh John Mungo Grant was born 9 September 1960 and cut his teeth in period dramas like Maurice (1987), which won him the Volpi Cup, and later The Remains of the Day and Sense and Sensibility. Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) made him a star — the Golden Globe and BAFTA followed — and the rom-com reign continued through Notting Hill, Bridget Jones's Diary, About a Boy, and Love Actually. Then he pivoted: supporting turns as a deluded accompanist in Florence Foster Jenkins (2016) and a preening actor in Paddington 2 (2017) earned him BAFTA nominations, and he kept leaning into darker, weirder…
