Val Edward Kilmer started on stage, making his Broadway debut in The Slab Boys in 1983, then slid into film with the comedies Top Secret! and Real Genius before the shift to leading man. Top Gun in 1986 made him Iceman; The Doors in 1991 made him Morrison; Tombstone in 1993 made him the scene-stealer as Doc Holliday. He played Batman in Batman Forever, shared the screen with De Niro and Pacino in Heat, and logged parts across comedies, westerns, crime dramas, science fiction — more than $3.85 billion in worldwide grosses.
