About this person

Roger George Moore was born 14 October 1927 in England and built his early career on television, playing the smooth lead in The Saint from 1962 to 1969 and teaming with Tony Curtis in The Persuaders! from 1971 to 1972. He became the third actor to play James Bond in 1973 with Live and Let Die, then carried the role through six more films - The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, and A View to a Kill in 1985. He kept working after Bond, making his final screen appearance in a 2017 Saint television film. Appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 1991 and knighted in 2003 for services to charity, Moore died 23 May 2017, leaving behind a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a French Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters.
