Susan Sarandon broke in with Joe in 1970 and a stint on daytime soap, then found cult immortality in The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 1975. Oscar nominations followed for Atlantic City, Thelma & Louise, Lorenzo's Oil, and The Client before she won Best Actress in 1995 for Dead Man Walking, playing Sister Helen Prejean opposite Sean Penn's condemned man.
