About this person
Born in Vancouver in 1976, Reynolds started acting at thirteen, landing his first lead in the teen soap Hillside in 1991 and later anchoring the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl from 1998 to 2001. He cycled through rom-coms like Van Wilder and The Proposal and superhero misfires like Green Lantern, building a career but not a signature. Then Deadpool arrived in 2016 - a hard-R Marvel film he'd fought for - and became a phenomenon, earning him a Golden Globe nomination and spawning two sequels, the latest of which is his highest-grossing release. He's since moved between action films, voice work as Pikachu, and a side career as an entrepreneur, buying into Mint Mobile and co-owning Welsh soccer club Wrexham, the subject of his Emmy-winning docuseries. Divorced from Scarlett Johansson, he's been married to Blake Lively since 2012, with four children and a carefully maintained reputation for being the internet's favourite smart-ass.
