Robyn Rihanna Fenty signed with Def Jam in 2005 and broke through with Caribbean-tinged pop, scoring early hits with "Pon de Replay" and "SOS". Good Girl Gone Bad (2007) marked the pivot: sharper image, dance-pop sheen, and "Umbrella" at number one.
