About

Tarantino arrived in 1992 with Reservoir Dogs, an independent crime film that announced a new sensibility. Two years later Pulp Fiction won the Palme d'Or at Cannes and his first Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, turning a non-linear crime comedy-drama into a cultural reset. He wrote and starred in From Dusk till Dawn (1996), then directed Jackie Brown (1997) as homage to blaxploitation. The two-volume Kill Bill (2003–2004) plunged into martial arts; Death Proof (2007) was his half of the Grindhouse double feature with Robert Rodriguez.
