About

Born March 19, 1955, Willis broke through on the comedy-drama Moonlighting from 1985 to 1989, then became an unlikely action anchor with Die Hard in 1988 and its four sequels through 2013. Over a hundred films followed: Pulp Fiction in 1994, 12 Monkeys in 1995, The Fifth Element in 1997, The Sixth Sense in 1999, Unbreakable and The Whole Nine Yards both in 2000, then Sin City, Red, Looper, and Glass across the next two decades. His late-career years saw a cascade of low-budget direct-to-video releases, poorly received, before he retired in 2022 with aphasia and received a frontotemporal dement…
