Naomi Elaine Campbell started modelling at eight and by her twenties had forced fashion to reckon with its own colour line. Born 22 May 1970 in Britain, she became one of six models her generation elevated to supermodel status, breaking ground as the first black woman to front Time and Vogue France. Beyond the runway she tried music - an R&B album - and acting, then turned host for The Face, a modelling competition she franchised internationally. Her charity work spans various causes, though a financial misconduct investigation led to a five-year ban from serving as a trustee of any UK charity in September 2024.
