Karlie Elizabeth Kloss was born August 3, 1992, and signed with Elite Model Management young enough to become a Victoria's Secret Angel by 2013. Two years later she left the contract to study at New York University, a rare sideways move for someone at that altitude. The Vogue covers kept stacking - 40 international editions by 2019 - while she founded Kode with Klossy, a nonprofit running free coding camps for girls and non-binary teens, and pushed into reproductive rights work. In 2022 she launched Gateway Coalition to fund abortion clinics across the Midwest. She hosted Project Runway for a season, then in 2023 acquired i-D magazine and took the CEO seat. The arc bent from catwalks to code to capital, each turn deliberate.
