Paolo Rossi was born 23 September 1956 and signed to Juventus from Vicenza in 1976 for a world record fee, though Vicenza kept him on loan. He topped Serie B in 1977, led his side to promotion, then became the first player to win the scoring title in Serie B and Serie A in back-to-back seasons with 24 goals in 1978. He finally joined Juventus in 1981 and collected two Serie A titles, the Coppa Italia, the Cup Winners' Cup, the Super Cup, and the European Cup.
