About this person
Born 1 September 1984, Göransson cut his teeth on American sitcoms, scoring Community from 2009 and New Girl from 2011. In parallel he produced three Childish Gambino studio albums starting with Camp in 2011, then hit a commercial peak producing "This Is America" in 2018, which swept Record and Song of the Year at the Grammys. His film breakthrough came through Ryan Coogler, a college friend whose every feature he's scored: Black Panther won him a first Oscar in 2018, Sinners a third in 2025. Between those he moved into dramatic television with The Mandalorian, earning two Emmys, then scored Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer in 2023 for a second Academy Award. He's also produced for Adele, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, and others, and earned a fourth Oscar nomination for co-writing "I Lied to You" from Sinners - a rare composer who straddles blockbuster orchestration and hip-hop production without favoring either.
