Katherine Anne Couric was born January 7, 1957, and started at CNN as an assignment editor before joining NBC News in 1989. She co-hosted Today for years, then made the leap to CBS Evening News in 2006, breaking the solo female anchor barrier at a major network evening program. She also worked as a correspondent for 60 Minutes during that stretch. After leaving CBS in 2011, she moved to ABC News until 2014, then became Yahoo's Global News Anchor from 2013 to 2017. Along the way she hosted Katie, a syndicated daytime talk show that ran from 2012 to 2014, published a New York Times bestseller in 2011, and was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 2004. She now runs Katie Couric Media, publishes a daily newsletter, and has hosted the podcast Next Question with Katie Couric since 2016 - and in 2021 became the first woman to host Jeopardy! in its flagship American run.
