Clinton Eastwood Jr. was born May 31, 1930, and broke through on the TV Western Rawhide before Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy in the mid-1960s made him an international star. The Dirty Harry films through the 1970s and 1980s cemented the archetype, while his biggest commercial hits turned out to be the comedy Every Which Way but Loose and its sequel. He founded Malpaso Productions in 1967 and has produced nearly all his American films since, shifting behind the camera to win Best Director and Best Picture Oscars for Unforgiven in 1992 and Million Dollar Baby in 2004.
