Jalen Anthony Rose was born January 30, 1973, and arrived at the University of Michigan in 1991 as part of the Fab Five - Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King, and Ray Jackson - a freshman class that reached back-to-back NCAA championship games in 1992 and 1993. He turned pro and spent 13 years in the NBA as a small forward for six teams, landing his longest and best stretch with the Indiana Pacers, where he and Reggie Miller led three straight Eastern Conference finals runs and made the 2000 NBA Finals. He retired in 2007 averaging 14.3 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. Rose moved to the broadcast booth as a sports analyst for ABC and ESPN, working NBA Countdown and Get Up! and co-hosting Jalen & Jacoby with David Jacoby until late 2022. He founded the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, wrote the New York Times bestseller Got to Give the People What They Want, and produced the ESPN documentary The Fab Five.
