About

Born in April 1945, Björn Kristian Ulvaeus grew up in Sweden and found his way into music before joining forces with Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad to form ABBA. The group became a global phenomenon, and Ulvaeus—the oldest of the four—co-wrote the hooks that defined a decade. After the band, he and Andersson kept working: they co-composed the musicals Chess, Kristina från Duvemåla, and Mamma Mia!, the last of which became a stage sensation and then a film franchise. Ulvaeus co-produced both Mamma Mia! movies with Andersson, his close friend and long-time collaborator…
