About
Born 15 November 1945 in a Norwegian village to a Norwegian mother and a German father, Anni-Frid Lyngstad grew up across the border in Torshälla, Sweden. She became a founding member and lead singer of ABBA, the group that included her second husband Benny Andersson and went on to become one of the best-selling music acts in history. After ABBA dissolved, she pursued a solo career that never quite matched the heights, then stepped away from music altogether.
