Something wrong? The son who turned inheritance into its own empire. Alejandro Fernández took the mariachi throne from his father Vicente and then did something unexpected - he left it, pivoting hard into Latin pop and selling 20 million records on his own terms.

I'm not a teetotaler. People know that I like to have my drinks. Specially when I go to work. I don't like to get drunk. I don't go out drunk.
I don't like feeling lonely... but in solitude one can get to revalue many things.
I don't know, I think that the eyes, I like eyes very much.

Born 24 April 1971 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Alejandro Fernández Abarca grew up inside Mexican music royalty as Vicente Fernández's son. The media dubbed him "El Potrillo" - the colt - and he started exactly where expected: deep in mariachi and charro, the earthy folk forms his father owned. Then came the swerve. He pushed into pop music, and it worked. The pivot made him one of the best-selling Latin music artists worldwide, moving over 20 million records and collecting four Latin Grammys along the way. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, planted in ground he earned twice - once by blood, once by departure.
