Christian Nodal turned mariachi and norteño into a hybrid he called "mariacheño" and made it chart in the US - a rarity for regional Mexican music. At 22, he co-wrote "Botella Tras Botella", the first song in that lane to crack the Billboard Hot 100.

About this person
Born in Sonora in 1999, Nodal signed with Universal Music Latin at seventeen and dropped Me Dejé Llevar the following February. The album hit number seven in Mexico and spun off four Monitor Latino hits, two of them number ones. His 2019 follow-up Ahora landed three more top-tens. In 2021 "Botella Tras Botella" with Gera MX became the genre crossover that reached number 60 on the Hot 100 - still his most-streamed track. A year later he jumped to Sony Music Mexico mid-lawsuit, released the Forajido EP, and watched "Ya No Somos Ni Seremos" top the Mexico Songs chart. By mid-2023 he had six Latin Grammys and a second Forajido installment with two more singles in the top ten.
