Xi Zhongxun was a Chinese Communist revolutionary and politician who played a significant role in the history of the People's Republic of China. He was a member of the influential Eight Elders in the 1980s, and is the father of Xi Jinping, the general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party since 2012.
