Folks, we have done over 1800 of these shows. And most nights, I come out here and I talk to the audience beforehand.
It’s not a great look when you fly on the pedophile’s plane enough times to earn diamond pervert status.

Stephen Colbert studied drama at Northwestern but fell into improv, working his way up through Second City as Steve Carell's understudy and co-creating the cult sitcom Strangers with Candy with Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello. A correspondent stint on The Daily Show led to The Colbert Report in 2005, where his caricature of conservative blowhards introduced "truthiness" and earned him a memorable turn at the 2006 White House Correspondents' Dinner. The show became Comedy Central's highest-rated series and spawned the satirical Colbert Super PAC, which Jon Stewart helped rally with him in 2010. In 2015 CBS hired him to replace David Letterman, and he held the Late Show chair through 2026, racking up eleven Emmys and a 2007 number-one bestseller along the way.
