About this person
Brian Imanuel Soewarno was born September 3, 1999, and released "Dat $tick" on SoundCloud in March 2016 under the name Rich Chigga - a track that caught fire and earned RIAA gold certification. He rebranded as Rich Brian and put out Amen in 2018, which hit number 18 on the Billboard 200 and made him the second Southeast Asian artist to crack the top 20 after Jake Zyrus. The Sailor followed in 2019, then EPs 1999 in 2020 and Brightside in January 2022, with collaborations spanning Chungha, Keith Ape, Jackson Wang, and Jae Park. In August 2025 he released his third album Where Is My Head? through 88rising, featuring Ski Mask the Slump God, Toro y Moi, and Maxo Kream - a record that arrived after years of waiting and marked a full turn from novelty to catalog artist.
