Biography

About

Born Philipp Schwartzerdt on 16 February 1497, he became Martin Luther's closest collaborator and the intellectual architect behind the Lutheran Reformation. While Luther ignited the break with Rome, Melanchthon systematized it — writing the first coherent Protestant theology and designing the educational structures that would carry it forward. Alongside Luther and John Calvin, he shaped the emerging Protestant world, though his gift was translation: taking revolutionary heat and making it legible, defensible, repeatable.
