Usyk won heavyweight gold at the 2012 Olympics with an amateur record of 335-15, then turned pro in 2013. He became the first Ukrainian undisputed champion by sweeping cruiserweight in 2018 at the World Boxing Super Series. Three years later he moved up and took Anthony Joshua's unified heavyweight titles. In May 2024 he beat Tyson Fury to claim the WBC belt and become undisputed heavyweight champion - the first since Lennox Lewis lost the designation in 2000. He knocked out Daniel Dubois in July 2025 to reclaim undisputed status a second time, joining only Muhammad Ali in that feat. He vacated his sanctioning body titles in June 2026 but holds The Ring belt and the lineal claim, unbeaten through it all.
