A Dutch producer who turned a growling three-note loop into "Animals" at seventeen and rode it to the top of festival main stages worldwide. He landed the number one DJ Mag spot five times before turning thirty, a run that made him electronic music's most visible name for nearly a decade.

About this person

Martijn Gerard Garritsen was born 14 May 1996 and started releasing tracks under the name Martin Garrix while still in his teens. "Animals" broke through in 2013, and by 2014 he was headlining Ultra Music Festival at seventeen - the youngest ever to do it - and opening Ultra South Africa's first edition. The singles kept coming: "In the Name of Love", "Scared to Be Lonely", a catalog that pulled him onto the Coachella, EDC, and Tomorrowland circuits. DJ Mag ranked him number one in 2016, 2017, and 2018, then again in 2022 and 2024. He held residencies at Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa Ibiza, left Spinnin' Records in 2016, founded his own label Stmpd Rcrds, and signed with Sony. The formula held: big rooms, bigger drops, and a booking sheet that never thinned.
