About

Born 26 July 1975, Truss studied philosophy, politics and economics at Oxford, where she led the Liberal Democrats before switching to the Conservatives in 1996. After stints at Shell and Cable & Wireless, she entered Parliament in 2010 and climbed steadily through Cabinet roles under Cameron, May, and Johnson — Environment, Justice (the first female Lord Chancellor in a thousand years), Treasury, Trade, and finally Foreign Secretary in 2021.
