, I think musicians have a responsibility to try and do something that is good. It's so hard. It's very difficult to pull something out of the hat creatively.
I'm really very happy if people can connect at all to anything I do. I don't really mind if people mishear lyrics or misunderstand what the story is.
David Bowie had everything. He was intelligent, imaginative, brave, charismatic, cool, sexy and truly inspirational both visually and musically.

About this person
Catherine Bush was writing songs at 11 and signed to EMI after Pink Floyd's David Gilmour helped fund a demo. In 1978, "Wuthering Heights" made her the first woman to top the UK chart with an entirely self-written song. The Kick Inside followed, and by 1980's Never for Ever she'd become the first British solo woman to hit number one on the album chart. She took full production control from The Dreaming onward, released Hounds of Love in 1985 with "Running Up That Hill", then disappeared for 12 years between The Red Shoes and Aerial. Two more albums arrived in 2011; in 2014 she played her first shows in 35 years. When Stranger Things used "Running Up That Hill" in 2022, it hit number one again and cracked the US top three - 37 years after release.
