About

Born in Ontario in 1954, Cameron moved to California at 17 and started in community college before breaking through with The Terminator in 1984, a low-budget thriller that made him a name to watch. He followed with Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2, and True Lies through the early '90s, each pushing visual effects further. Then came Titanic in 1997—a production so troubled it became industry legend, until it swept the Oscars and became the first film to gross over $1 billion.
