Born July 11, 1952, Lang built his career on stage first - earning a Tony nomination in 1992 for The Speed of Darkness and a Helen Hayes Award for his one-man show Beyond Glory, which he performed over 150 times. From 2004 to 2006, he co-directed the Actors Studio. His screen work runs military and menacing: the FBI profiler's quarry in Manhunter (1986), Civil War officers in Gettysburg and Gods and Generals, a home invader in Don't Breathe (2016). But it was James Cameron's Avatar in 2009 that locked him into the pop-culture cannon - his Colonel Quaritch won a Saturn Award and returned for the sequels. On TV, he commanded Terra Nova's doomed colony and played Waldo across three seasons of Into the Badlands. He keeps working, still coiled, still intense.
