About this person

Iolanda Costa surfaced in December 2008 on Uma canção para ti, TVI's first season, a 14-year-old among hopefuls. The exposure planted her name, but the years between that debut and her next major turn were quiet ones. In 2024 she was selected to represent Portugal at Eurovision, armed with "Grito" - a song that put her back in front of cameras, this time on a continent-wide stage. The arc from childhood television contestant to national emissary took sixteen years, most of it offstage.
