The New Classic arrived in 2014 and she became the first non-American female rapper to top Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. "Fancy" hit number one while her feature on Ariana Grande's "Problem" sat at number two - a Beatles-level feat that earned her a Grammy nod. Then the wheels came off: label fights killed Digital Distortion, a move to Island Records soured, and she pivoted to self-releasing In My Defense and The End of an Era. In 2024, she announced her retirement from music, walking away with 7 billion YouTube views and a stack of awards that couldn't smooth over the mess.
