Something wrong? The son of a sitting president who became a focal point of partisan warfare, federal prosecution, and a sweeping pardon that wiped a decade clean. His name pulled more search traffic than most cabinet members - not for policy, but for a laptop, a conviction, and the question of what protection looks like at the top.

Robert Hunter Biden was born February 4, 1970, to Joe Biden and Neilia Hunter Biden. He worked as a lobbyist, attorney, and investor, joining the board of Chinese investment firm BHR Partners in 2013 and Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings from 2014 to 2019. Starting in 2019, he and his father became targets of allegations - later deemed false - that Joe Biden pressured Ukraine to fire a prosecutor to shield him, claims that intensified after the New York Post published a story about his laptop in October 2020. A federal investigation into his tax affairs opened in late 2018. In June 2024, he was convicted of three federal firearms felonies after admitting he illegally owned a gun while using drugs. He pleaded guilty to tax charges in September 2024. That December, his father pardoned him for all federal offenses committed between 2014 and 2024, including any not yet discovered. Disbarred in Washington and Connecticut in 2025, he now works as development director for a nonprofit tenants' rights organization.
