Justin Kan was born July 16, 1983. He co-founded Justin.tv as a lifecasting experiment, broadcasting everything he did around the clock, which drew widespread attention and eventually pivoted into Twitch, the live video platform that redefined gaming culture online. He also co-founded Socialcam, a mobile video app, and later became a partner at Y Combinator. In 2020 his law-tech startup Atrium shut down after he'd served as CEO. By 2021 he'd launched Fractal, an NFT marketplace later renamed Stash in 2024, and started The Drop, a Reddit-style platform for electronic music discovery. The thread through it all: he kept building new ways for people to watch, share, and find each other online.
