One Direction made him a teen idol; what he did next - a solo run marked by falsetto pop, gender-fluid couture, and genuine chart dominance - turned him into something rarer: a former boy-band member who became bigger alone.

I didn’t grow up in a man’s man world. I grew up with my mum and my sister. But I definitely think in the last two years, I’ve become a lot more content with who I am.

About this person
Harry Edward Styles was born 1 February 1994 in England. His break came in 2010 when he and four other solo rejects were bundled into One Direction on The X Factor - a band that would become one of the best-selling boy groups of all time before going quiet in 2016. His self-titled debut solo album arrived in 2017 with "Sign of the Times" hitting number one in the UK. Fine Line in 2019 set the record for biggest first-week US sales by an English male artist and gave him "Watermelon Sugar", a Billboard Hot 100 topper. Harry's House in 2022 won the Grammy for Album of the Year; its lead single "As It Was" became the year's biggest song worldwide. His fourth album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, landed in 2026 with global number-ones "Aperture" and "American Girls". He has appeared in Dunkirk, Eternals, Don't Worry Darling, and My Policeman, and became the first man to cover Vogue solo - in a blue Gucci dress.
