Gwyneth Paltrow, daughter of filmmaker Bruce Paltrow and actress Blythe Danner, built her name through mid-budget dramas and period pieces in the '90s - Seven, Emma, Sliding Doors - before Shakespeare in Love handed her the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1998. She followed with The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Royal Tenenbaums, and Shallow Hal, then pulled back after becoming a parent in 2004, working sporadically until Iron Man in 2008 gave her a second act as Pepper Potts across the Marvel Cinematic Universe through Avengers: Endgame. In parallel, she launched Goop in 2005, a lifestyle company that became a magnet for controversy over pseudoscience claims, and signed on as a face for Estée Lauder and Coach. She won an Emmy for a guest role on Glee, narrated a Grammy-nominated audiobook, published cookbooks, and hosted The Goop Lab for Netflix before stepping away from acting after The Politician in 2020. She returned with Marty Supreme in 2025.
