About this person
Gregory Brockman was born November 29, 1987. He left MIT in 2010 to join Stripe, a payments startup still in its first year, and rose to CTO by 2013. Two years later he left to co-found OpenAI, where he took the CTO role again and helped steer the lab from nonprofit research outfit to the company that released ChatGPT. He still serves as president. The move traded fintech stability for a more uncertain wager: that the race to build superintelligence would define the next decade, and that he'd have a hand in writing the rules.
