Trapattoni is the only manager to win all three major European club competitions with a single club — Juventus — and one of five coaches to claim domestic league titles in four different countries. As a player he took two European Cups with Milan; as a manager he swept every continental trophy and the world title.
Born 17 March 1939, Trapattoni spent nearly his entire playing career as a defensive midfielder at AC Milan, winning two Serie A titles and two European Cups between 1962 and 1969, and earning 17 caps for Italy at the 1962 World Cup. He became the most successful club coach in Italian football, winning ten league titles across Italy, Germany, Portugal and Austria — a feat matched by only four others.
