Wade came out of Marquette after leading the Golden Eagles to the Final Four in 2003 and went fifth in that year's draft to Miami. By his third season he had the Heat their first championship and took Finals MVP honors in 2006. He led the league in scoring in 2008-09 with 30.2 points per game, captained the Redeem Team to Olympic gold in Beijing, and earned All-Star MVP in 2010. When LeBron James and Chris Bosh arrived in 2010, the trio pushed Miami to four straight Finals from 2011 to 2014 and back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013. Wade left for Chicago in 2016, spent a half-season in Cleveland, then returned to Miami in February 2018 and retired a year later as the franchise's all-time leader in points, assists, steals, games, and shots. The Heat retired his number 3 in 2020, he joined the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2023 for his career and again in 2025 with the Redeem Team - while picking up minority stakes in the Utah Jazz and the Chicago Sky along the way.
