Alán Alejandro Maldonado Tamez took the name MC Dharius when he joined Cartel de Santa in 1999, riding the group through more than a decade of Mexico's hip hop surge. By 2013 the partnership had soured enough that his exit song carried its message in the title: "Me Alegro de Su Odio." He dropped the MC prefix, kept making music as Dharius, and added acting and songwriting to the roster. The split became its own storyline, the kind where the last track says everything.
