Ashton Dumar Norwill Simmonds, born April 5, 1995, released two independent EPs - Praise Break in 2014 and Pilgrim's Paradise in 2015 - before his 2017 debut album Freudian earned three Grammy nominations and a win for "Best Part" with H.E.R. Case Study 01 followed in 2019, longlisted for the 2020 Polaris Music Prize. In 2021 he landed his first number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Peaches" alongside Giveon and Justin Bieber, pulling four Grammy nominations at the 64th ceremony.
